TRITON Revitalization, Frankfurt, Germany, 2010
The Triton Building (340,000 sq ft above ground) is one Frankfurt’s iconic projects from the Eighties. After nearly thirty years of use it was in need of a complete overhaul. TEK TO NIK Architects redesigned the glass facade considering aesthetics, economy and sustainability. The final result is a triple glazed curtain facade that was installed 250 mm in front of the load bearing concrete floor slabs. This and the loss of the reinforced concrete balustrades led to a significant gain in extra floor space. The energy value of the entire new facade is 0.85 W/m²/K which is 30% below the legally required energy conservation (EnEV) standard.
The revitalized Triton-Tower was certified „Gold“, according to DGNB.
