Wa wettbewerbe aktuell, issue 7/2019, recently published an interview with Manfred Wenzel about natural stone as an ecological building material. The architect expertly argues in favor of “natural stone as an ultra-modern building material”. He emphasizes: “Natural stone is absolutely competitive” and attributes this to the state-of-the-art machines that make processing and the millimeter-precise milling of complex CAD specifications so much easier. In addition, natural stone is considerably more stable in value: “Natural stone retains its quality the longest of all building materials.” This means that even aesthetically sophisticated natural stone façades ultimately have a positive financial balance for investors.
