“In a prominent location” – this is the headline of the FAZ’s page 30 (issue 19, October 2021) of its report on our new construction project in Frankfurt. The article deals in detail wit the important location for the city centre between Biebergasse 6-10 and the Börsenplatz, where the building is located directly opposite the traditional old stock exchange.

Author Rainer Scholz talked about the special challenge with architect Manfred Wenzel. According to him, the façade is designed in such a way that it blends in with the overall appearance of the surroundings, but at the same time it refreshes the entire surroundings and links them to the present with the well-proportioned, haptic modernity typical of TEK TO NIK architects. Rainer Scholz quotes Wenzel as saying: “The façades there are all very bold, the building should communicate with them.” How this can be experienced in urban reality, the Frankfurters will already know in autumn 2023. By then, the building should already be ready for occupancy by then.

One day later, the Frankfurter Rundschau also reports the news with a large picture, short text and the allusive headline “Bieberbau”. Not all Frankfurters are aware of this. For decades, the “Bieberbau” hall stood on the site of the new building. Between 1924 and 1965, Frankfurters went to the “Bieberbau” cinema there. You can read more about this here.
