Issue 1/26 of CUBE, the Frankfurt and Rhine-Main Region edition, features on page 24 the new lounge designed by TEK TO NIK Architects for the Kastor Tower in Frankfurt am Main. Under the heading “Statement of Art”, the article highlights the key technical and artistic features of the sculptural wall installation.

Cube describes it as “probably the largest work of art made of natural stone in an interior space of the past 50 years”.

The short text explains why this claim is well-founded. In the sculpture, the basic forms of Attic and ancient Egyptian column types literally flow into one another, and in such a way that not a single one of the fused concavities or convexities resembles the others.

Not a single one of the prefabricated parts produced by Naturstein Hofmann is identical to any other.

Despite the outstanding photographs by Wonge Bergmann, the article should be understood merely as a guide to what applies to all architecture: the spatial and physical impression can only be experienced on site.
